Jane Ellen Babics Obituary
Jane Ellen Babics, 97, departed this earth for her heavenly home on December 12, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born on December 18, 1925 in Paris, Ohio, to parents John James Betz and Bertha May Burris Betz. Jane was the eldest of four siblings, Arthur, Elaine and Lucille.
Jane married George Babics in February, 1945 in Canton, Ohio. Jane had five children, Terry, Lynn, Debra, Stephan Babics and Stephanie. Jane had 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 bonus great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren and 6 bonus great, great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Besides her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, George Babics and her siblings. She is survived by her five children: Terry Babics, Lynn V. (Roy) Fete, Debbie J. (Lonnie) Lawson, Stephan, and Stephanie Price.
To know Jane was to love her.
Jane leaves a legacy of her love of family, reading, artwork, cooking, traveling overseas and state side, not only with her children, but grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memories from her great grandchildren: walking into grandma Jane's house when they would make banana donuts. Sitting in the backyard with the sound of her waterfall, she taught them to turn their face to the sun. That she loved watching ice skating on TV, and the way her eyes would sparkle when the told stories of her "wild, young days". She shared that during WWII, she was a Rosie the Riveter. That she worked at various jobs throughout her life including modeling hats as well as fashionable ladies apparel.
