He was predeceased by: his parents, Esiquiel Salgado and Ester Salgado; his son Roel Salgado; and his siblings, Elias Salgado, Carlos Salgado, Esmeralda Esquivel, Amalia Newman, Alicia Garcia, Cristella Franco and Dalia Guerra.
He is survived by: his wife Benilde C. Salgado of Kingsville; his children, Valentin Salgado (Linda) of Corpus Christi and Velma S. Ortega of Kingsville; his siblings, Lydia Markum, Gloria Gutierrez, Idolina Guerra, Alma Salas, Aida Alvarez, Nora Tijerina and Gilbert Guerra; his grandchildren, Omar Salgado (Robina), Angela Salgado, Juan Ramirez (Tina) and Lisa Allen (Jesse); and his great grandchildren, Ava, Marco, Rose and Lexy James. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
