He was predeceased by: his parents, Arturo Cortez and Mary Louise Cortez; and his brother Arturo Cortez, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Dennise Rawlinson (Trinidad III) of Kingsville, Cindy Garcia of Kingsville, Devon Marie Cortez of San Antonio and Rogelio Cortez Jr. (Jennifer) of San Antonio; his grandchildren, Tommy, Mandy, Michelle, Jenna, Maddison, Mason, Roxanne, Eric and Alex; and his siblings, Anne Vasquez (Joe), Sylvia Cortez (Rudy), Cyndi Cortez (Ricardo), Roberto V. Cortez and Albert Cortez. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren; and several uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home (230 E Ella Ave, Kingsville, TX 78363). A rosary was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 9:15 AM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
