He was predeceased by: his brothers, Antonio Mendez Jr. and Roland Mendez. He is survived by: his wife Cindy A. Mendez of Kingsville, TX; his children, Alyssa N. Mendez of Kingsville, Madison Mendez of Kingsville, Rogelio Mendez (Esmeralda) of Rosenberg, Troy Mendez (Maria) of Edinburg, Trey Mendez (Celina) of Portland, Antonio Mendez (Stacy) of Illinois and Alberto Mendez of Austin; and his siblings, Arturo Mendez, Enrique Mendez, Olga Cooner, Angie Antunez and Enriquetta Puente. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws.
