Rita Shafer Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Shafer (Kingsville, Texas), born in Palacios, Texas, who passed away on November 25, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Edwin Frank Ryon and Elaine Huddleston Ryon; her husband Alfred Edwin Shafer; and her sister Cyndi Shepard. She is survived by: her children, Rodney Shafer, Scott Shafer, Gaye Alcoser (Tony), Steve Shafer, Andrew, Alora and Nick; and her siblings, Jan Becker, Ron Ryon (Barbara) and Judy Sissom. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and/or the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
