She was predeceased by: her sons, Daniel Mata and Edward Mata; and her siblings, Julia Molina, Adelfa Tamez, Eclicedo Vela and Ricardo Vela.
She is survived by: her husband Ernesto G. Mata; her children, Brenda L. Mata, Ernesto Mata Jr. (Amy), Billy Mata and Christopher Mata; her siblings, Richard Baraza, Inez Prado of California and Rosa Moya of Corpus Christi; and her grandchildren, Tyler (Marisa), Travis (Michael), Ernie III, Danielle and Addison. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
