She was predeceased by: her sons, Carlos "Charlie" Lopez Jr. and Danny Joe Lopez; her parents, Frutoso Rivera and Concepcion Rivera; and her siblings, Hector Rivera, Frutoso Rivera, Jr. and Ercilia.

She is survived by: her children, Deborah "Debbie" Villarreal (Anthony), Jesus "Jesse" Lopez (Jennifer), Valerie Garza (Ruben) and Faith Lopez. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
