He was predeceased by: his parents, Fidela Perez and Mauricio Arevalo; his brothers, Fidel, Mauricio and Ruben Arevalo; his daughter Elizabeth Pope; and his sister Maria Golden.

He is survived by: his former wife Graciela Arevalo; his children, Ofelia Arevalo and Mauricio Arevalo; his grandchildren, Andrew and Adriana Arevalo; and his brother Jesse Arevalo. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
