It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Ortiz Jr. (Kingsville, Texas), born in Beeville, Texas, who passed away on December 24, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Paula Ortiz and Juan T. Ortiz Sr.; his stepmother Estefana Ortiz (Chacha); his stepsons, Michael Ramirez and Vidal Billy Ramirez; and his siblings-in-law, Kenneth Harger, Arthur Harger, Jr., Eddie Harger, Charles "Chuck" Harger, Dick Whipple, Michael Heaton, Delores Harger and Cheri Harger.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pauline Ortiz (Santos), Barbara Ortiz, Jodi Trevino (Arturo), Brandi Ortiz and Kristi Ortiz; his sisters, Mary Helen Rubio (Juan) and Roseanna Bernal (Mario); and his siblings-in-law, Marti Whipple, Juanita Heintzelman, Carol Heaton, Nancy Cloud (Phil) and Larry Harger (Margie). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary (205 General Cavazos Blvd, Kingsville, TX 78363). Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
