He is survived by: his wife Gloria Moreno Avelar; his children, Cindy Arevalo (Oscar), Maggie Abrigo (Jimmy), Jesus Avelar, Jr. (Rose), Grace Avelar, Evelinda Avelar and Andy Avelar (Wanda); his brothers, Leon C. Avelar, Jr. and Jose Avelar, Sr.; his grandchildren, Fred Steven Galindo (Brenda), Rebecca Cantu (Marcus), Pamela Hinojosa (Dwayne), Maegan Vela (Michael), Victoria Arevalo, Sarah Saenz (Eddie), Madeline Denton (Richard), Jesus "Tres" Avelar, III, Jimmy Matthew Abrigo, Lauren Avelar, Justin Avelar and Ace Avelar; and his great grandchildren, Zachary Hinojosa, Eliana Grace Abrigo, J. W. Abrigo, Aliza Denton, Bowen Hinojosa, Emalee Galindo, Dawson Saenz, Julianne Cantu, Slade Vela, Deklan Denton, Nicolas Cantu, Magdelyn Vela, Cole Saenz and Levi Galindo. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
