She was predeceased by: her parents, John V. Shimek and Bertha Socha Shimek; her husband Charles Miller Nix; and her niece Monica Shimek Forrest. She is survived by: her sons, Richard Nix (Dee) of Houston and Kirk Nix (Kristi) of Corpus Christi; her granddaughters, Kamyn Bueno (Kristian), Reba Mittag (Josh), Alexandria Nix, Jacqueline Nix, Jaylyn Nix and Charleigh Nix; her great grandchildren, Harper Bueno, Bennett Bueno and Reid Mittag; her siblings, Gladys Welfl of Victoria and Larry Shimek of La Grange; her nieces, Sandi Copes (Scott) and Vicki Adair (Don); and her nephew Wade Welfl.
