He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Lee and Lillie Mae Smart; his sister Marjorie Knocke; and his brother-in-law W. E. Youngblood. He is survived by: his wife Lula Belle Smart; his daughters, Debra Smart and Lana Forbes (Raymond); his granddaughter Harleigh Drew Forbes; his brothers, Causey Smart (Faye) and John Smart (Norma); his brother-in-law Henry Knocke; and his sisters, Lillian Youngblood and Beverly Fossler (Robert). He is also survived by numerous nieces; and nephews.
