He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carlos Zapata and Teresa Zapata; his wife Irma Hinojosa Zapata; his sons, Daniel Zapata Jr. of Kingsville, Diego Zapata of Kingsville and Luis Alberto Zapata of Kingsville; and his siblings, Christina Zapata of Port Lavaca, Julian Zapata of Austin and Juan Zapata of Kingsville. He was also cherished by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
