He was predeceased by: his wife Hermelinda Vela Cruz; and his parents, Cruz G. Olivarez and Eva S. Olivarez. He is survived by: his sons, Hector Olivarez and Arturo Olivarez (Irene); his sister Eva Olivarez Recio; his sister-in-law Lupita Vela Cruz; and his grandchildren, Albert Olivarez, Kathy Olivarez, Anthony Olivarez, Arturo Olivarez, Jr., Amanda Garza and Adam Olivarez (Lauren). He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews.
