He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Leonard and Dorothy Murphy; his brothers, Leonard "Sonny" Murphy and James "Jimmy" Murphy; and his son Michael Murphy.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Sue Murphy; his daughter-in-law Mary Lynn Murphy; his sons, Kevin (Denise), Sean and Patrick (Donna); his grandchildren, Shauna Matteson, Christina Ballard (Frankie), Ryan Murphy (Krystal), Lauren Ridley (Jake), Ryleigh, Remi, Ridley Murphy, Braden and Bryson Murphy; his great grandchildren, Tori, Jase Matteson, Pepper Ballard, Maddox, Gavin Murphy, Georgia and David Ridley; his siblings-in-law, Betty Ann Rivera, Kathy Murphy, J. B. Woody and Judy Woody; his friend Bud Goodwin; and his caregiver Brandy.
To commemorate Bill's special love of children, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
