He was predeceased by: his parents, John K. Whistler and Vivian "Pat" Whistler; and his son Guy David Whistler. He is survived by: his wife Joan; his daughter Amy Priest of Port Townsend; his sisters-in-law, Linda Wallen of Tow and Rita Kay Flory of College Station, Texas.; and his nephews, Ken Wallen, Mike Wallen (Shannon), Sean Flory and Todd Flory. He is also survived by great nephews and a great niece.
