She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Appling and Mary Ella Appling (Malaer); her husband Gus Merlin Mergele; her son Jan Mergele; her daughter-in-law Carla Mergele; and her siblings, Raymond Appling, Carl Appling and Jennie Mae Appling Schmidt.
She is survived by: her son Richard Mergele; her grandchildren, Clint Mergele (Mistty), Logan Mergele (Kara Scheel) and Maggie Toler (James); her great grandchildren, Elliot, Hadley, Harper, Haze, Brayden and Emerson; and her sister-in-law Jacque Schuele (Wallace). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many friends.
