He was predeceased by: his parents, James O'Neal Magness and Lula Kirkland; his son John Magness; and his siblings, Brenda Carrico, Mary Dowling, Jack Magness and Roy Magness.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Magness of Kilgore; his children, Tiffany Murphy (Russ) of Kilgore, Eddy Proctor (Amy) of Harleton, James Magness of Hallsville, Ricky George (Christy) of Overton and David George (Virginia) of Longview; his daughter-in-law Stacy Magness of Snook, Texas; and his sisters, Bobbie Lockhart of Synder and Bettie Cagle of Price, Texas. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
