He was predeceased by: his grandson Rusty Higgins; his parents, Ben Dahse and Martha Dahse (Pfeffer); his sister Hannah; his siblings-in-law, Rudy Sturm and Gracie Dahse; his brother Charles Dahse; and his nephews, Larry Wayne Dahse and Chris Johnson.
He is survived by: his daughter Robin; his son-in-law Steven Higgins; his grandsons, James (Alyssa Higgins), Blake Higgins and Jeff Higgins; his siblings, Shirley Hatcher, Kathy Johnson, Bennie Dahse and Larry Dahse; his great grandchild Oakleigh Higgins; his close friends, Lori Gaines and Kellie Fitch; his pet Annabell; his niece Shawn Grimm (Bret Grimm); and his nephews, Bentley and Tanner Grimm. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, great niece, and cousins.
