He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Wilson and Ava Verlene Harris (Burkhalter); his former wife Joyce Ann Cunningham of Kennedale; his brother Michael Harris; and his granddaughter Taylor Dawson.

He is survived by: his wife Catherine Fields; his daughters, Jenise Cox (Koby), Jana Harris (Zachary Campbell) and Angela Shaver (Daymon); his grandchildren, Jordan Dawson, Payton Cox (Courtney), Kelsey Cox, Kyle Shaver and Adin Shaver; and his great grandchildren, Joy and Lucy Cox. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County or Salvation Army of Fort Worth.
