He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth Freeman (Betty); his parents, Roy G. Freeman Sr. and Willie Routon Freeman; and his brothers, T. H. Freeman and Victor Skrehot.

He is survived by: his former wife Betty Boeselt of Westphalia; his children, Hermann, Roy and Bonnie Urbanek (Richard) of San Antonio; his sisters-in-law, Mitzi Boeselt of San Antonio, Katherine Skrehot of San Antonio and Laura Wilkinson (Lynn) of Montgomery, Texas.; and his close friends, Juanita Arrozola and Albert Baldaramos of Kenedy.
