He was predeceased by: his parents, Kantaeulla Hess and Jessie Young; his children, Kevin T. Hess and Daphne Jean Hess; and his brother Kenneth Young.
He is survived by: his wife Alma Jean Hess; his sons, Marcus C. Hess, Malcolm E. Hess, Jr. (Rosa) and Mustafa Kemal Hess (Pamela); and his siblings, Donald R. Hess (Karen), William Young, Haleemon Z. Hatch (Aaron), Cynthia A. Hess and Ruth L. Hiner (Curtis). He is also survived by his grandchildren, relatives, church family and friends.
