He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Hughes and Chereé Hughes; and his brother James E. Hughes II. He is survived by: his wife Heather G. Hughes; his children, Emily Arlene Paxton-Hughes and Jason Edward Hughes; and his sisters, Carol Williams, Evelyn McDaniel, Naomi Herrera, Lois Smith and Bonnie K. Collins.
