He was predeceased by: his parents, Rexal Mims Gage and Ethel Fewell Gage of Virginia; his brothers, John Gage, Freddie Gage and Robert Gage; his granddaughter Kaylee Depriest; and his uncle Larry Gage.

He is survived by: his wife Gena Gage; his sons, Joseph William Gage (Leighann) and James Paul Gage (April); his sister Becky Wallace (Kenny); his grandchildren, Kelsey Gage, Kayla Gage, Haliegh Rhea, Susannah Gage, Rex Gage and Tori Depriest; and his great grandchild Brinley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
