He was predeceased by : his parents, Manuel Chavarria, Jr. and Paula Martinez Chavarria; and his sister Juanita Green. He is survived by : his children, Elizabeth Chavarria of Dana Point, CA and Manuel Martinez Chavarria, IV of Galveston; and his siblings, Nettie Williams of Santa Fe, Texas, Albert Chavarria (Margie) of Galveston, Antonio "Tony" Chavarria of Galveston and Ralph Chavarria (Kitty) of Galveston. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Susie Hembree wrote a sympathy message

“My sincere sympathy goes out to Manny's family and loved ones. May God give you peace and comfort throughout the days ahead. Manny was loved by all who knew him at Clear Creek Community Church. He was a servant of the Lord. I volunteered with him at the Wednesday evening church service on occasion with counting the thithes and offerings. He was a very pleasant gentleman to work with, and I will remember him as a true friend. He will be misssed! Blessings, Susie Hembree”
