He was predeceased by: his former wife Rosemary; his daughter Bernadine; and his brothers, Boyd and Charles. He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Bill, Bob, David, Mel, Susan, Kelly and Lori; his stepchildren, Lyn, Ken and Rebecca; and his siblings, Bernadine and Herman. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
