We are sad to announce that on October 31, 2023, at the age of 86, Vernell Kanode of Keller, Texas, born in Justin, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil E. Morgan and Robert Lee Morgan. She is survived by: her husband Lenny Kanode; her siblings, Azell Vandergriff and George Morgan; her children, Brenda Ensley (Dale), Lance Kanode, Venus Steele (Clarence) and Melissa Kanode; her grandchildren, Rebecca, Sarah, Jacob (Clarissa), Kelsey, Rachel (Mark), Kaytlin, Courtney and Isaac (Autumn); and her great grandchildren, Kaylynn, Mason, Blakeleigh, Elena, Jace, Liam, Caroline Jo and Randall.

Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization Nell and Lenny were deeply passionate about and supported throughout their life.
