He was predeceased by: his wife Margie Rae Long (Fisk) of Austin, Texas; his parents, Charles Long and Esther Long of Fritch; and his sister Maralee Brown (Long) of Arlington. He is survived by: his sister Nancy McCann (Long) of Fort Worth; his children, Lois Scott (Dennis) of Keller, Thomas Kyle Long (Molly) of College Station, Lori Plowman (Chad) of Weatherford, Cami Basse (Chris) of San Antonio and Amber Long (Justin Keen) of Nashville, Tennessee.; and his grandchildren, Travis Long, Caitlyn Wermuth (Scott), Sloane Basse, Collin Thomas Scott, Avery Harrington (Long), Kennedy Scott and Hayden Thomas Plowman.
Viewing was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel (4941 Interstate 20 Frontage Rd, Willow Park, TX 76087). A celebration of life was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery (9974 I-37, Corpus Christi, TX 78410).
