He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hubert Howeth and Meathel Howeth (Mills); and his siblings, Anita Burnett and William "Bill" Howeth. He is survived by: his wife Linda Howeth; his children, Jonette (Scott Stewart), Barnett Howeth, Jr. (Jerri) and Roger Howeth (Teresa); and his grandchildren, Lisa Alexander and Gene Griffith, Jr. (Carlita).
