He was predeceased by: his wives, Carrie Minnie Nelson and Helen Arlene Henderson; his son Bobby Nelson; his grandchildren, Aaron Nelson and Maya Miles; his siblings, Harold Nelson, John Daniel Nelson, Weldon Nelson and Faye Hill; and his brother-in-law Richard Hill.
He is survived by: his children, Alice Rodriguez (Joe) of Jayess, MS, Jimmy Nelson, Billy Nelson of Grandview, Judy Kessler (Jason) of Greenville and Ruby Nelson of Grandview; his brother Patrick Nelson of Portland, OR; and his sister-in-law Mabel Nelson of Sacramento, CA. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
