He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Troy Frankum and Rose Beatrice Cluck; his wife Patricia Mathis; his daughter Kim Frankum; and his siblings, B. R. Frankum, Tommy W. Frankum and Barbara Ann Sorrells.

He is survived by: his son David D. Frankum; and his grandchild Dee Ann Shaffer.
