She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Oliver Oxley and Billie Margaret Wilkinson. She is survived by: her husband Thomas Wayne Stewart; her daughter Johna Alexandra Filis-Mercado (Manuel Mercado); her grandson Sebastian Thomas Mercado; and her siblings, Eric, Dollie Cain and Sheryl Oxley Prescott. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA of Houston.
