He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. James Lovell and Dr. Janis Lovell; and his father-in-law Gerald Mase. He is survived by: his wife Debra "Debbie" Lovell; his children, Dr. Amy Gremillion (Charlie) and Tim Lovell (Tiffany); his grandchildren, Noah Lovell, McKenzi Lovell, Chase Gremillion, Connor Gremillion and Cody Gremillion; his siblings, Dr. Randall Lovell (Susan) of Rhonda Lovell, J. D. and Dr. Diana Lovell (Stephen O'Grady); and his mother-in-law Mary Lu Mase. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
