He is survived by: his wife Maria Luisa Rivas; his mother Maria Villarreal Rivas; his children, Pedro Rivas, Jr. (Margarita), Daniel Rivas (Juliana) and Patricia Medrano (Carlos); and his siblings, Juan Alberto, Saul, Rafael, Omar Villarreal, Nora Villarreal, Rosa Esparza and Julia Villarreal. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild as well as other loving family members and friends.
