He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Oscar Bernal Sr. and Virginia Bernal (Castro); his grandparents, Maria Guadalupe Castro, Paulino and Dominga Bernal; his cousin Christopher John Garza; his uncle John Rutoskey; his wife Sonia; his grandfather Jose Ricardo Castro; his siblings, Armando Luis Bernal (Leila), Daniel Eloy Bernal, Jose Alejandro Solis, Veronica Bernal, Vanessa Hernandez (Jose), Angel Bernal and Angie Bernal; his close friends, Ron Morgan, Gerardo Garcia, Johnny Chavez and Harold Johnson of Houston, Texas; and his nephew Oscar. He was also cherished by friends and family, some knew him as Big O while others called him Big J or Tank, Jr. and even Nuno, but no matter what they called him, they all knew Oscar to be a loving son, husband, brother, uncle, cousin, or friend.
