He was predeceased by: his parents, Wei-Ming Tang and Shih-Hua Mi; his mother-in-law Wen-Hwa Tsuei; his nephew Daniel Hyde; his brother-in-law Kao Dahuai; and also Sheng Wang.

He is survived by: his sons, Chih-Hang Hans Tang (Florence) and Andrew (Lisa); his grandchildren, Austin, Laurel, Lyndon, Margot and Matilda; his father-in-law Ming-Fei Wang; and his brothers, Ting-Shih Tang (Rong Gao), Chin-Shih Tang (Yu Ping Gao) and Chien-Shih Tang (Min Min Wang).
