Janice Lee (Powers) Slanina Obituary
Janice Lee (Powers) Slanina gained her angel wings on November 13, 2021 at her home in Katy, TX. Janice was 60 years old.
Janice’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were blessed to be touched by her, understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that she was here.
Janice’s best memories were shared surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed attending concerts of her favorite rock bands, cheering on the Astros and Texans, traveling with her family, catching up with friends and having long and funny conversations while enjoying a margarita. She absolutely loved the holidays and listening to Christmas music, while decorating her many Christmas trees. Most importantly Janice was an amazing mom. Her children were her life. There wasn’t a day that went by she didn’t brag about her two girls and express how proud she was of them both. Janice will always be remembered for her contagious laugh and her big heart of compassion and empathy.
Janice is survived by her husband, Mark Slanina, her two daughters Candace Baker (Matthew), Lindsay Thompson (Matt), her mother Patricia Powers, her brother Lance Powers (Lori), her sister Mindy Powers-Rodriguez (Saul), her brother Shayne Powers along with her nieces and nephews, Myer Rodriguez, Alyssa Epson (Lorne), Marina Rodriguez, Kyle Powers, Jeshua Rodriguez, Jeremiah Rodriguez, Elizabeth Cardona, Abel Cardona, Lyla Lucas, Mia Epson and Peyton Powers. She was preceeded in death by her father Steele Powers (2014).
There will be a celebration of life ceremony on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 10 am at Bowery House and Gardens, 24902 Franz Road, Katy, TX 77493. The family requests in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Shriners Children Hospital or The American Heart Association.
