He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Edward O'Brien and Catherine McGrath O'Brien; his wife Alice Scheuerman; his grandchildren, Justin (Lindsey), Andrew, Kendall (Ben), Jack, Ashley, Lauren and Erin; his great grandchildren, Rylie and Barrett; his sister Mary Ellen O'Brien of Providence, RI; and his siblings-in-law, Shawn (Don), Dione, Dayna (Kevin), Tamra and Cameron (Kristin). He was also cherished by his sons and daughters.

“I am so sad to learn of Pat's passing. I have had him on my heart for a few weeks but couldn't reach him by phone. We stayed in contact for many years after I moved to Georgia but gradually stopped after his health deteriorated. He was the love of my life for many years and I finally had to give up. I think I knew he was gone before I found his obit online. I've never stopped loving him. I send my heartfelt prayers for you all and I know he loved you. (229)344-1407 in case I can do anything..”
