It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Eugene Leal Cantu Jr. of Katy, Texas, who passed away on July 25, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugenio Cantu and Maria Cantu; his in-laws, Domingo, Micaela Rodriguez and Jane Smith; his siblings, Luciano, Crisobal, Antonia and Esperanza; his brother-in-law Jesse Morado; and his nephew Gary Gonzales.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Cantu of Katy; and his children, Eugene Cantu III (Kate) of Magnolia, TX and Annette Smith (Chris) of Katy, TX. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, family and friends.
