He was predeceased by: his parents, Arcadio Ruiz and Bernabela Figueroa Ruiz; and his son Reynaldo. He is survived by: his wife Josefina Ruiz; his children, Ana Delia, Nancy, Rosa Haydee (Andres), Migdalia (Alex), Efrain Jr. (Wanda) and Jose Luis (Sonia); and his grandchildren, Alberto, Michelle, Leticia, Judy, Alex, Daniel, Eleazar, Samuel, Abigail, Anais, Angeli, Jasmine, Kayla, Lil Ray, Karina, Hannah and Jeremiah.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Alvarez Funeral Directors (2500 N Cicero Ave, Chicago, IL 60639). A Mass was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church (2300 W Le Moyne St, Chicago, IL 60622).
