Artie Evelyn Backhaus Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Artie Evelyn Backhaus of Katy, Texas, who passed away on April 6, 2021 at the age of 104. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Gamble and Effie Gamble (Voyles); and her husband Wilhelm Backhaus. She is survived by: her siblings, Glenn Gamble (Mildred), Helen Backhaus (Siegfried) and Edith Korthauer (Harry); her granddaughter Melanie Rothwell Byrd; her children, Linda Rothwell of Katy, Texas. and Paul Backhaus (Tena) of Katy, Texas.; her grandchildren, Travis Backhaus (Julie) of Austin, Texas., Kelley Morse (Kyle) of Katy, Texas and Brittany Buchtien (Chris) of Houston, Texas.; and her great grandchildren, Jentry and Lila Byrd of Houston, Texas.. She is also survived by several nephews and friends.
