He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas and Lucille Kern; his stepfather Frank Kern Jr.; his son Robert G.; and his siblings, Frank Kern III and Elizabeth Frye.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Jaskinia; his children, Janine, Michelle and Richard Henefield; his siblings, Robert (Barbara), Donna Dunning and Bonnie Kern-Koskela (Larry); his grandchildren, Kalin Kingsland (Linda), Taylor Kingsland (Philip Ellenberg), Danielle Davis (Steven), Hope, Maci, Shelby Posten, Ella Henefield, Jason Henefield and Megan Henefield; and his great grandchildren, Landon, Karli, Graceland and Debanie.
