He was predeceased by: his parents, William Clell and Gladys Damey Whitehead (Beeson); his wife Patsy Janet (Cutbirth); and his siblings, Elton, Bruce, Dwayne and Bessie Marie Deline.

He is survived by: his son Ronald Scott Whitehead; his daughter-in-law Julie Robertson Whitehead; and his grandson William Max Whitehead.
