He was predeceased by: his parents, Ramon Cardenas and Maria F. Cardenas; his brothers, Frank T. Cardenas, Sabas Cardenas, Ramon Cardenas, Felix Cardenas, Rafael Cardenas and Jose Cardenas; his sons, Rudy Cardenas and Lazaro Cardenas; and his daughter-in-law Sylvia Ann Salinas Cardenas.
He is survived by: his sons, Luis Cardenas Jr. and Jose R. Cardenas (Melanie); and his siblings, Helen Sepulveda, Jesus Cardenas (Ermina) and Rudy Cardenas (Christine). He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
