She was predeceased by: her parents, Merle Inez Bigony and Alfred Samuel Kennedy; her parents-in-law, Pete and Maggie Gibbens; and her brothers-in-law, John Gibbens and Sid Gibbens.
She is survived by: her sister Diana Kay; her son Robert Ray, Jr.; her husband Bobby Gibbens; her daughter Diana Backlund (Tim); her grandson Austin (Angel); her son Robert Gibbens, Jr. (Shelley); her granddaughters, Kate Gibbens, Meg Barrett (Ginger) and Lacey Barrett (Andrew); her great grandchildren, Nora, Brynley and Kolten; and her sisters-in-law, Lou Gibbens and Jo Gibbens. She is also survived by nephews, a niece and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Karnes County Retired Teachers Association, the Karnes City Public Library or the Alzheimer's Association.
