He was predeceased by: his parents, James G. Pettigrew Jr. and Lucy Mae Ayers Pettigrew; his father-in-law Felipe Davila; and his brother-in-law Felipe Davila Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Dora Davila Pettigrew; his children, Monty Pettigrew, Lori Pettigrew, Jason Pettigrew (Kim, Kelly Pettigrew), Jeanie Scales (Bruce) and Philip Alaniz (Veronica); his brother Gary Pettigrew (Trudi); his mother-in-law Aurora Davila; and his siblings-in-law, Mel Davila (Lucy), Mary Tobar (Martin, Helen Hernandez) and Stella Cantu (Alex Lopez). He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
