He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Phillips and Lucille Phillips (Reed); his son David Phillips; and his brothers, David Phillips and Duwayne Joe Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife CarolLee Phillips of Justin; his son Reed Phillips (Alisa) of Thorton; his daughter-in-law Allison Phillips of Austin; his stepchildren, Cary Mellema (Cara) of Aurora, Dean Mellema of Jacksboro and Gayna Mellema of Rhome; his grandchildren, Nathanael, Cody, Delaney, Sally, Ellie, Lucy, Liam, Jacob, Brad and Eileen; his great grandchildren, Chloe, Brody and Haley; and his brother Dan Phillips.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel (405 E Main St, Decatur, TX 76234). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
