He was predeceased by: his parents, James Louis Bruce and Paulina Self Bruce; his former wife Maisie Bruce; his son Louis Bruce (Lillian); his siblings, Edith Burt, Helen Broyles, Billy Bruce and Gordon Bruce; and his nieces and nephews, Carla White, Tammy Bruce, Sammie Lee Holland, Gordon Bruce, Jr. and Andy Bruce.
He is survived by: his friend Ron Fuquay; his daughters, Paula Bruce of Junction and Lynn (Ron Benningfield) of Goldthwaite; his grandchildren, Lance Schultz (Holly) of Huntsville, Bruce Schultz (Lacy) of Granger, Lori Purser (Jonathan) of Georgetown, Holly Harrison of Georgetown, Zachary Van Winkle (Michelle) of Austin, Joshua Van Winkle of Lubbock and Jennifer Vachon (Mark) of San Antonio; his great grandchildren, Dakyrii Schultz of Junction, Grayson Schultz of Huntsville, Jayden Rogers, Lance Jordan Schultz, Bryce Schultz, Victoria Schultz of Granger, Samuel Purser of Georgetown, Mary Purser of Georgetown, Emma Harrison of Austin, Travis, Olivia Duke of Floresville, Mark and Jacob Vachon of San Antonio; and his brother-in-law James Broyles of San Angelo.
