With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Manuel Garcia Valdez of Jourdanton, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 22, 2024 at the age of 80. He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro Antonio Valdez Sr. and Elisa Garcia Valdez; his son Joseph Valdez; and his siblings, Cornelius "Keno" Valdez, Pedro Antonio Valdez Jr., Herminia "Minnie" Mendez and Janie V. Martinez.
He is survived by: his wife Josie Valdez; his sons, Manuel Valdez (Jana) and Gerald Valdez; his grandchildren, Mark Armando, Gabriel, Joseph, Jerrett and Joel Valdez; and his great grandchildren, Richard Alexander Valdez and Christopher Valdez. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hurley Funeral Home (118 W Oaklawn Rd, Pleasanton, TX 78064). A rosary was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. Matthew Catholic Church (1608 TX-16, Jourdanton, TX 78026).
