He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan M., Jr. and Mary Tijerina (Gallegos); his grandparents, Juan M. Tijerina, Alfredo Gallegos and Isabel Tijerina; and his stepbrother Juan Dillard.
He is survived by: his wife Dora Tijerina (Sosa); his son Nicholas A. Tijerina; his brothers, Robert Tijerina (Rita) and Manuel Tijerina (Clarissa); his stepmother Maria C. Dillard; his stepbrothers, Andres Dillard (Terry), Julio Dillard (Angelica) and Armando Dillard (Gloria); his parent-in-law Raul R. Sosa; his siblings, Irma Valle (Esteban), Raul Sosa, Jr. (Veronica), Rosemary Sosa (Oscar), Phillip J. Sosa (Amy), Lisa Gonzalez (Luis) and Juan G. Sosa (Leticia); and his grandmother Lillie T. Chapa. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
